Meet Nicole

As a Marsh account executive, I provide service support to the client advisor, sales professional and client executives relating to the development and servicing of insurance brokerage and risk management accounts. I ensure accurate, efficient, and timely production of all clients, insurer, and policy-related deliverables and enforce critical deadlines.

How does your work support Marsh in being the Risk Advisor of the Future?

As a member of the Marsh McLennan Early Career and Graduate Program, I started my career in broking in the FINPRO department. The FINPRO team provides financial institutions and commercial companies with a wide range of financial risk solutions, including Directors & Officers liability insurance, professional liability insurance, and cyber insurance. Marsh has a comprehensive training system for management trainees, which allows me to systematically learn risk management knowledge as well as underwriting and claims practice, which will enable me to become a trusted risk management consultant for existing and potential clients in the future.

How has being a mentor, mentee, or both shaped your life and career?

The mentor/mentee relationship has really impacted my career and life, as my fellow colleagues find ways to help me better myself and provide added value for clients. The Marsh McLennan Early Career and Graduate Program assisted me with the help of the buddy program and having a mentor.

Paramount advice to for me was to learn from the experience shared by my predecessors in the industry. My mentor shared his career teachings and advised me to improve my skills in the workplace. Also, my line manager emphasized to stay up to date with industry news and understand the dynamic progress of my clients so that we can provide a better, overall service.

What is the most meaningful advice you’ve received? 

We need to put ourselves in our customers' shoes. As a client executive, I recognize the importance of building authentic, trusting, and professional relationships with my clients and providing the best service possible. As insurance brokers, we need to use our expertise to help our clients prevent potential risks from occurring and help them with enterprise risk management services. We are committed to the success of this business by providing our clients with excellent service that meets their needs and expectations.

How does Marsh support you in giving back to your communities?

As a member of Marsh McLennan Early Career and Graduate Program, we participated in our company-wide Global Volunteer Month which was very meaningful to me. I volunteered with my teammates for a week at the Vocational Rehabilitation Center for the Disabled. During the five days, I read books with individuals with mental and intellectual disabilities, did handicrafts such as bead and rope weaving, and played chess. I learned about their unique experiences and gained a more profound understanding of the meaning of “when life gives you lemons, make lemonade.​” Volunteering is not only a great contribution to our society and those who are in need, but also increases many skills, such as social awareness and communication abilities, for those who are volunteering.
