Marsh is delighted to have received the “The Diversity award” at the British Insurance Awards 2019.
The award recognises the outstanding contribution companies have made to cultivate an environment where diversity and inclusion underpin their business operations and are aligned to their strategic goals.
Marsh received The Diversity Award in recognition of the work of its Mental Health Colleague Resource Group which, following its launch in September 2018, has strived to create a happier and healthier environment for colleagues, through raising awareness, providing support, and supplying resources where needed.
A judge on the panel remarked: “Mental health issues in the workplace are far too prevalent in our industry…This is a great step forward — measured and unashamedly targeted.”
Jerry Flahive, Director of Risk & Governance and Mental Health Ambassador at Marsh, commented: “We’re incredibly humbled to receive the Diversity Award. At Marsh, we’re committed to creating an inclusive environment so that people can bring their whole selves to work. The issue of mental health is incredibly important for building the type of culture in which all individuals, irrespective of role or background, are valued. This is not through paying lip service to the importance of D&I but through real, measurable initiatives that continue to benefit our colleagues and clients.”
Celebrating 25 years of the British Insurance Awards, the insurance industry applauded the top award winners at the gala event, which took place in London’s Royal Albert Hall on 10 July.
