Operational Risk Evaluation
Risk control is a fundamental element of any effective risk management program—to continually work at reducing the likelihood and impact of unwanted losses as well as to support and enhance the insurance placement process.
MRC’s experts provide clients with the information needed to make informed decisions about risks to their property portfolio and business. Applied individually or in strategic combinations, our services provide focused analysis and specific recommendations for mitigating exposures at every phase in the property lifecycle, from planning and design, to construction, maintenance and renovations.
Premises Liability
MRC can help clients proactively reduce their slip and fall liabilities through pro-active identification and risk management, which can help reduce the frequency of incidents, its associated costs, and the disruption that could be incurred. Services include loss trends analysis, customized and targeted programs, and advice on best controls based on measurements of slip characteristics.
Fire Protection
Fire threat to property can represent potentially significant exposures to the safety of occupants, loss of physical assets, and the continuity of the operations. MRC has a range of professional fire protection engineering services geared to address these exposures. This includes Fire Modelling, Fire Plan Review, Fire Risk Analysis, and Managing Fire Risk.
Natural Hazards
The insurance industry, reacting to large losses from natural hazards, has realized reinsurance capacity limits and is reengineering the underwriting of exposed areas. This has a direct influence on a client’s premium, with implications such as exclusions of coverage, higher deductibles, increased premiums and lower limits of coverage.
MRC’s Natural Hazards practice offers services that address a range of client concerns depending on their needs. Our specialists can provide analysis for only one location, or very detailed analysis on a whole portfolio for a more holistic view of their risk.
Hazardous Material Modeling
MRC will use the Process Hazard Analysis Software Tool (PHAST) and Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) to properly measure and model hazardous materials exposures such as a chemical release or an explosion.
