Through a series of free events throughout the year, we aim to bring insight through a variety of styles which are engaging, informative, and relevant to insurance buyers, risk managers, and others interested or involved in business.

Lorna Feeney, Head of Mental Health, Marsh Advisory

Lorna works for Marsh specialising in the implementation of mental health strategies as well as the provision of mental training. She is adept at producing bespoke courses/content and is a regular speaker at industry events. Fundamentals of Insurance

This course will provide participants with a high-level overview of insurance and the global insurance market and its current and future developments. It will introduce the benefits of insurance, insurance terminology and outline key participants of the market-place.

Neil Park

Neil Park will deliver this training course on behalf of the Axco Academy. He is an experienced instructor who delivers training in the United Kingdom and internationally on a broad range of topics covering technical insurance, broking and negotiation skills. He also trains and supports candidates taking their Chartered Insurance Institute Certificate, Diploma and Advanced Diploma examinations.

Introduction to D&O insurance

Join us on Friday 10 March from 9.30am, for a Marsh Academy webinar, where our financial lines experts will help you understand the basics of directors and officers liability (D&O) insurance, what businesses should consider when purchasing D&O insurance, recent D&O claims trends, including ESG and current D&O insurance market conditions.

This session is aimed at those with responsibility or involvement in purchasing insurance for their organisation or for those who interact with the board of directors with regard to their personal liability, such as company secretaries or legal. This course will be useful to those of you who are new to insurance or are part of a wider role such as legal or finance.

Stephanie Pestorich Manson, Managing Director

Stephanie is the Head of Management Liability for FINPRO in the UK. In this role she leads a team of over 100 management liability specialists and had a broad overview of all segments of D&O, EPL, PTL and commercial crime insurance placed in the UK. She advises boards of directors and risk managers on D&O market issues and the ever-changing legal and regulatory developments in management liability.

Matt Terry, Managing Director

Since 2021 Matt has been the Head of FINPRO National – Marsh’s specialty financial lines practice for the Corporate (middle market) and Commercial (SME) segments across the UK. In this role he leads a team of 75 specialists in D&O, EPL, PTL, Crime and Professional Indemnity insurance for everything from small owner-operator businesses up to large multinational organisations.

Director’s Responsibilities: Understanding Operational Risks

Join us on Friday 21 April from 9.30am, for a Marsh Academy webinar where our panellists will focus on director’s duties under Health and Safety Law. We provide an overview of how directors and board members can ensure they have suitable knowledge of their roles in prompting health and safety as well as providing practical guidance as to how they can apply that knowledge in practice.

This session is aimed at those have a senior leadership responsibility (board level) to manage key operational risk within business. We will provide an overview based on practical examples of case law and with reference to the Institute of Directors guidance on the topic.

Alistair Schuberth, Risk Partner, Marsh Advisory 

Currently Alistair works for Marsh, and his particular specialty being claims defensibility and fleet risk. Prior to having worked in risk management for 7 years, he qualified as a solicitor and worked for a national law firm handling a wide variety of employer’s, public, and motor liability cases. In addition to this, Alistair has experience of representing organisations and their employees at inquests and prosecution hearings arising as a result of workplace and road related incidents.

Anne Davies, Partner at FisherBroyles LLP

Anne is a business crime lawyer with a particular focus on health and safety. She has handled a broad range of regulatory investigations and prosecutions over the last 34 years, assisting both companies and individuals to minimise the risk facing them through criminal liabilities.

Suzanne Jones

Suzanne has responsibility for the delivery of M&A advice and solutions to UK companies making acquisitions and divestments.

Suzanne joined Marsh’s Private Equity and M&A team in 1997 and was at the forefront of developing risk and insurance due diligence for the investment, private capital and M&A community. 

Suzanne’s experience includes working on over 1,000 M&A transactions across a range of industry sectors and geographies, targeting concerns that affect deal negotiations and the long-term financial success of the transaction.
